Born in 1996, her artistic practice reflects on femininity in the context of historical and contemporary social structures. Influenced by the iconography of her native Tyrol, traditions along with folkloric objects and rituals act as a catalyst for the artist’s process of appropriation and revision of associated narratives. Full of friction and coded references, her space-enveloping installations are composed from objects referencing the mundane, surreal sculptural forms, through to photography, drawings and text-based considerations. Manifesting a hybrid and highly symbolic vocabulary of forms, an inherent logic is cognisable, and yet remains bizarrely encoded.
