Martin Poppelwell belongs to an emerging generation of artists whose background in Post-Modernist theory and painting, informs his appropriation of images from popular culture.
Poppelwell completed a BFA at the University of Auckland School of Fine Arts in 1991.
He has work in the collection of Te Papa Tongarewa - Museum of New Zealand.
