MITSUGU SATO
Born in Osaka, Japan, 1971. Sato embarked on a wandering journey around China, many other Asian countries and the Americas, after leaving Osaka University of Art. In 1988, Sato moved to Wakayama City and began his artistic career, creating objects using marine debris. Sato featured in many exhibitions in Tokyo and Nagoya, starting with a solo exhibition in Osaka in 2005 before settling in Nagoya in 2010. Sato one day realized that by collecting odds and ends, he himself was a wanderer. In 2014, he published the first part of his autobiography, with the second part released in 2016. This self-reflection brought to light the highs and lows of his unconventional life. In the Autumn of 2020, he plans to participate in Oku-Noto Triennale 2020.
