Ohtsubo Kosen is an artist based in Tokorozawa, Japan. He is a vital figure who has been active in the contemporary and avant-garde ikebana movement since the 1970s. The time-sensitive nature of Ohtsubo’s works along with a limited distribution of their accompanying documentation has, until now, limited access to those within his field. For most of his life, Ohtsubo has been associated with the Ryusei School of ikebana as the Headmaster’s Advisory Instructor. His radical and iconoclastic approach to this art form has granted Ohtsubo numerous presentations around the world.
