Born in 1968, PanditKhairnar received his Diploma in Art Teaching in Aurangabad in 1989, after which he received another Diploma in Fine Arts from the L.S. Raheja School of Art, Mumbai, in 1992. Khairnar won the Bombay Arts Society Award in 1992 and 1991; and the State Award from the South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), Nagpur, in 1992.
Khairnar has held solo exhibitions at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, in 2011, 2006, 2001 and 1996; at Gallery 7, Mumbai in 2005; at Citibank Nariman Point, Mumbai, in 2002 and Sans Tache Gallery, Mumbai, in 1998 and 1996. Group shows in which his works have been featured include Point and Line to Plane VI at Gallery Beyond, Mumbai, in 2008; India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, and 6+2 at the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, in 2002; Never Too Young at Jamaat Art Gallery, Mumbai, in 2001; Monsoon Millennium at Sans Tache Gallery, Mumbai, in 200; and Artists Choice Section, Selected by S. H. Raza at the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), Mumbai, in 2000.
