Robert MacPherson's art ranges from abstract works of the mid-1970s, in black and white with a to text-based paintings of the 1980s and 1990s that reference shop signs, placards and slang expressions.
MacPherson has exhibited regularly since the early 1970s, initially working with a minimal, systemic approach, with repetitive use of colour and form, MacPherson went on to combine his abstract and conceptual sensibility with a love of found and non-art objects - or readymades.
