Seoyoon Yi stand in front of a canvas, without any particular idea or sketch to paint something. She moves quickly in the time and place she is, repeats drawing and erasing / wielding and covering up. In this process, sometimes she just draws eyes, nose, and mouth and sees what can come out from todays. She then pairs texts that are not explicitly related to images, which are considered poetic or meaningful as the title of the painting that she usually collects.
Seoyoon Yi majored in Printmaking at Hongik University, received her master degree in Korea National University of Arts. She held solo exhibitions 《Stir the Soup》(art space hyeong,2021), 《Magnet Shades》(Rainbowcube gallery,2020). She participated in various group shows like 《21st Century Paintings》(Hite Collection,2021), 《Cloud Shaples》(Gallery Anov,2021) and many more.
