b. 1995, IrelandShane Keisuke Berkery (b. 1992, Japan/Ireland) works are deeply connected with memory and recollection. “I think of my paintings as existing at the intersection of our internal and external worlds. I explore the blurred boundaries between reality and imagination, and the crucial role memory plays in shaping our conscious experiences. Through painting, I meditate on the internal dialogues, nebulous images and affects that relentlessly race through my mind.”
Berkery has exhibited at institutions such as the National Gallery of Ireland, Saatchi Gallery (London, UK), and the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art (Wisconsin, USA).
