Tanada Koji
b. 1968, JapanBorn in Hyogo Prefecture in 1968. Earned his master’s degree in sculpture from Tokyo University of the Arts in 1995. Tanada continues to carve human figures using ichiboku-zukuri, a traditional Japanese woodcarving technique involving a single block of wood. His works explore the spaces between adults and children, humanity and nature, individuals and society, existing on these boundaries while evoking a sense of limitless expansion. Awarded the 30th Hirakushi Denchu Prize in 2022.
