Teng Yen Lin Biography

Teng Yen Lin grew up under the influence of an extremely artistic family. Starting her professional practice while juggling a full-time Literature honors degree at the National University of Singapore, Yen Lin’s art is informed by a deep love of lines, both the written and visual.

In the past seven years, Yen Lin has been actively engaged in creative collaborations with institutions such as Esplanade, OCBC Bank, and the Singapore Art Museum, among others. Her most recent solo exhibition, Searching for Magic (2014), was sponsored by the OCBC Arts Card and created in collaboration with Art Seasons Gallery. “Searching for Magic” saw Yen Lin transforming the OCBC Art Space into a magical wonderland of anamorphic (illusion) installations and whimsical paintings, to the delight of many.

Her well-received interactive tape installations, such as Secret Landing (2011) at part of OH! and her latest The Black Line Project, have also spanned locations ranging from community centers around Singapore to Penang, Malaysia. Her work has received prominent attention from both the English and Mandarin press, Mediacorp TV, and local radio. Visit the “Press” page to find out more.
