Well known for his series of animals and flowers in wood, Tsuchiya’s sculptures share two beautiful characteristics: delicacy and elegance. Born in Kanagawa, Japan in 1977, Tsuchiya obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts (in sculpture) from Tokyo’s prestigious National University of Fine art and Music, claiming prizes even during his years as a student. Currently, he holds a Doctor of Fine Arts Degree in Conservation (Classical Technique)(2007), and he has exhibited his works in Japan and Beijing.
