"Color stands for all visible light in the world. The mirror reflects all this light. With colors and mirrors, it includes everything in the world of colors. Both represent 'the colors' of this world." Yusuke Komuta
Read MoreYusuke Komuta's canvases are mapped by artful folds that document both the process of finding the image and the overlapping of the layers of paint applied with a spray gun. Conceptually, he does not follow a fixed set of rules, but is inspired by the dynamics of the folds, similar to the upheavals of a paper airplane. He develops his pictorial design free of symmetry and strict order. Despite or perhaps because of this unconventional approach, he creates poetic color spaces that hypnotically captivate the viewer.
