Zarya Austin-Fell’s creative practice examines the domestic landscape as a space where the ordinary and the imaginary coexist. She investigates the accumulation of memory, emotional weight, and symbolism in inhabitable spaces and also in everyday objects. Through subtle surreal interventions such as shifts in scale and distorted perspective, familiar settings are reconfigured to reveal their psychological depth, resulting in painting compositions that are somewhat childish and dreamlike.
Born in the late nineties, Zarya Austin-Fell is a multimedia artist that graduated in the field of Fine Arts Critical Practice from the University of Brighton in 2018. Since then, she has developed various exhibitions and worked with artists throughout different cities such as Lisbon, Norfolk, Madrid, and London. Alongside her painting practice, Zarya also produces ambient experimental music.
