Turner Prize winner Helen Marten recently presented an immersive solo show at Sadie Coles HQ.

Weaving between the freestanding walls, cables, and floor sculptures that formed the exhibition, viewers were met with various clues: painted plants, a chessboard, and a stuffed mannequin, to name a few, which acted as landmarks in her complex world.

Marten’s practice seeks to communicate ideas about existence and our relationship to the world around us. Sparrow On the Stone continued this exploration, composed of freestanding walls configured in the shape of a body, reflecting the structural embodiment of the cityscape and social systems playing out beneath.
