Brought to our attention by the gallery at Felix Art Fair in February, Perez draws upon the complexities of the human psyche.
Here, a duck (referencing Jean-Baptiste Oudry’s The White Duck) is held upside down by the foot with a scrap of paper adorned with a cartoon illustrating the cause of its untimely fate.
The Long Nap can be seen in his solo show at the New York gallery, alongside a number of other oil paintings and sculptures.
