Chinese artist Wang Gongxin‘s debut exhibition In-Between has opened in London at White Cube‘s Mason’s Yard space.

One of the first contemporary video artists in China, Gongxin has created a series of 13 multimedia works that explore Eastern and Western cultural perceptions of light.

Among these spellbinding works, a kinetic installation features two swinging bulbs that skim separate trays of water, one dyed black, allowing their tones to gradually shift over the course of the exhibition as water is exchanged between them.
