About Ocula
Ocula was founded with the goal of opening up the world of contemporary art to a new generation of collectors, industry professionals, enthusiasts and readers. It seeks to give greater transparency to the process of collecting and break down the barriers to access, providing unparalleled access to a global art landscape.
It does this through Ocula Magazine, which publishes ambitious storytelling and insightful artworld commentary; the art advisory, which offers expertise and guidance to collectors; and a gallery platform, which serves as a compendium of exhibitions currently on around the world, and offers access to the artworks available for purchase in each. It covers both emerging and established artists, galleries, and institutions across the platform.
A digital-first company since its inception in 2010, with expertise spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, Ocula seeks to challenge the art world’s Western focus by hosting a genuinely global roster of artists and galleries, and by publishing widely and ambitiously in our magazine.
Each gallery or institution represented on Ocula’s gallery platform has been vetted by a panel of industry leaders, ensuring that users can trust that they’re seeing the very best of the contemporary art world.
Users can follow artists on Ocula in order to receive timely updates, direct to their inbox, on relevant exhibitions, available works, news, and recent editorial coverage. Through regular newsletters, its website, and social media, Ocula connects with over five million users every month.
With a small, dedicated team based at its headquarters in London, alongside additional team members based in strategic locations around the world, Ocula is proud to remain independently owned and places value on responsiveness and integrity.
