Almine Rech Paris is pleased to present Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe's second solo exhibition with the gallery, on view from November 18 to December 22, 2023.

Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe explores in this show the idea of building bridges between cultures through a new series of the artist's iconic Cowboy image. On this occasion, the artist will use a totally new and striking style for painting cowboys' hats, with only the outside shape drawn with a brush in vibrant color on a head with scarifications on faces.

As a tribute to the 50th anniversary of Picasso's death, Otis Kwame Kye Quaicoe establishes a deep connection with Picasso through the bridging of cultures and his depiction of a "ghost" hat, avoiding all details in the process.
