Ho, mia kor’
Ho, mia kor’, ne batu maltrankvile,
El mia brusto nun ne saltu for!
Jam teni min ne povas mi facile,
Ho, mia kor’!
Ho, mia kor’! Post longa laborado
Ĉu mi ne venkos en decida hor’?
Sufiĉe! trankviliĝu de l’ batado,
Ho, mia kor’!
With his first solo exhibition at Alzueta Gallery Turó Park, Max Cobalto presents HO MIA KOR’, a project around his latest body of work: a reflection on simplicity, reduction and sincerity under the inspirational mantle of Esperanto, an approach that, like his work, transcends and blends borders.Looking at a work by Max Cobalto is like looking at the sky at night: a dark mantle where small lights known as stars are glued together. We all know that the sky is not flat, that our eye and our imagination deceive us, and that they place, at a specific point, a star right next to thousands or millions of others. In Max Cobalto’s painting the same occurs, the stars are his colors and the dark sky is his canvas. The painting is aerial, it floats, it approaches or moves away depending on the precise moment, and in the end it settles on the clear canvas, by an incomprehensible law of gravity.
Beyond this observation, perhaps too literary, we find in this new Cobalto’s exhibition some elements that indicate the pictorial evolution that this hidden artist is offering us. From his great colorist wisdom, which we can observe in the quality of the combinations that he proposes in each canvas, Cobalto takes a step forward indicating that not everything is color and combination but, on this occasion, the subtle proposal is based on the brushstroke, in the texture of the color, in the aquatics that compose it, in its mixtures and impurities.
His work always has the same hallmarks: color, combination and position. With these three elements they constitute a pictorial universe that nears poetry, the essence of the literary, the musical note, the minimum detail, that which turns any daily thing into something magical, unique and unrepeatable.
Painting of sincerity, painting of simplicity, painting of pleasure...Again a total exhibition with a great step forward, subtle and sure as all the work of Max Cobalto.
Max Cobalto as an artist is a conceptual project by a well-known Spanish artist who created a pictorial alter ego with its own voice, style and identity. The project will last 10 years, at which time the artist’s identity will be made public, as well as all the psychological and artistic implications generated by the creative dual work over a decade.
