'In painting I try to completely rely on intuition, because it in its essence seems to me to be the purest. To cultivate this feature in my works, I give up the preparations.' –Tycjan Knut
Cadogan Contemporary is pleased to announce an exhibition of new works by the artist Tycjan Knut. Knut creates subtle abstractions, using delicate tonal differences and neutral colours to create an effect that verges on optical illusion. This new series of works explores these abstract concepts present in Knut's previous practices, pushing the boundaries of illusion with incorporation of new elements taken from reality. Abstract forms and structures are enhanced to create multi-level abstractions using both the illusion and reality of shadow and light to assert the materiality of the painting itself.
