Principle of Spatial Continuity reconstructs the operational logic of contemporary painting through the library as its central medium. During the development of the work, the artist referenced the history of printmaking and brought it into dialogue with art history. Silkscreen functioned as a device that connects painting practices with printing technology, prompting the work to evoke the potential intersections between print history, design history, and the history of painting.
In the exhibition, knowledge and perception, the library and the museum, painting and text, printing and brushwork intersect with one another. These elements, which are neither entirely oppositional nor fully aligned, reveal what is articulated as well as what remains unspoken, seeking a shared ground between them.

Joohong Kang investigates and reconfigures print media, books, and library systems. Her practice centers on deconstructing the physical and social structures of institutions and systems to reveal the underlying orders and flows. She takes particular interest in uncovering landscapes in which individual situations intersect, settle, and fragment in cascading sequences — an experience she likens to sensing time and space while seated on a swivel chair. She typically makes work while standing upright and reads closely with an inclined posture. Her approach alternates between problem-solving and generating new questions. Currently, she is mapping the contours of alternative discourses that mediate between libraries and museums.
