Lee HoJin tells about common boundaries, thoughts on cultural spread, and changing phenomena through Island of Inflection, his second solo exhibition at Gallery Chosun.
The penetrating concept of this exhibition, dictionary meaning of 'inflection point' is a stationary point on a curve at which the tangent is horizontal or vertical and where tangents on either side have the same sign. Using this concept of inflection point symbolically, the effects of a dramatic rebound and ironic situations were transferred into canvas. The island, a symbol of isolated and scarce relationships, simultaneously changes and circulates, but eventually returns to its original position. And it created a new concept called 'island of inflection'.
