Lee HoJin tells about common boundaries, thoughts on cultural spread, and changing phenomena through Island of Inflection, his second solo exhibition at Gallery Chosun.

The penetrating concept of this exhibition, dictionary meaning of ‘inflection point’ is a stationary point on a curve at which the tangent is horizontal or vertical and where tangents on either side have the same sign. Using this concept of inflection point symbolically, the effects of a dramatic rebound and ironic situations were transferred into canvas. The island, a symbol of isolated and scarce relationships, simultaneously changes and circulates, but eventually returns to its original position. And it created a new concept called ‘island of inflection’.

The adjective ” Great ” commonly means ” good ” or “great achievement”, but in the dictionary, it means “large ” or ” immense”. I think about logical process or trap when objective indicator of is displaced with which connotes positive meaning. If you felt wild energy collision rather than the worship of the greatness of the world, it is because there will because you have a doubt to this logic.
