
White Cube Hong Kong is pleased to present ‘Thresholds’, a group exhibition featuring the work of 9 contemporary artists whose practices are rooted in or connected to Indonesia.
Through a diverse range of mediums, the exhibition explores the interwoven cycles of life, death and transformation, with a focus on themes of ritual, spirituality, and reincarnation.
Featured artists: Christine Ay Tjoe, Nadiah Bamadhaj, Galuh Anindita, Kei Imazu, I Gusti Ayu Kadek Murniasih, Arahmaiani, Jennifer Tee, Ines Katamso and Citra Sasmita.
Galuh Sukardi is an independent curator based in Bali, Indonesia. With a passion for promoting Southeast Asian contemporary art, Sukardi has held positions as Junior Specialist for the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian paintings department in Sotheby’s Hong Kong and Singapore (2010–2014), Head of Southeast Asia at White Cube (2015–2019) and Director at David Zwirner (2020–2024).













An international art powerhouse, White Cube was established in 1993 in London by art dealer Jay Jopling. In its space on Duke Street, it served as the early exhibition venue for many now internationally acclaimed British artists, including Tracey Emin, Gilbert & George, Rachel Kneebone and Antony Gormley, who still show with the gallery today.
