BERNARD QUESNIAUX
b. 1953, FranceBernard Quesniaux’s painting emerged on the French artistic scene in the middle of the 1980’s. His works combine human figures, abstract and figurative elements, mixing coherence and incoherence, seduction and repulsion.
The artist shows an undeniable sense of humor by suggesting a universe that is sometimes surrealistic, to which he adds titles that are as unexpected. Throughout the years, drawing remains the main thread in Bernard Quesniaux’s work. Under its absurdity and apparent silliness lies an elaborate way of thinking that constantly questions the traditional terminology of painting.
