Frank Tang is an artist based in Hong Kong. He earned his BA in2010 and MFA in 2023 at Hong Kong Baptist University and Chinese University of Hong Kong respectively. He used a range of technologies and platforms in his projects, including ink painting, video, sound, and collaborative performance; yet his work is always informed by his interest and training in Chinese shanshui (landscape) painting. Tang’s practice is marked by his exploration into ways of integrating not only the traditional aesthetic language, but also the experiential and philosophical concerns of shanshui art into contemporary idioms. He attended artist-in-residence programs in Zurich University of the Arts in Switzerland (2014) , Treasure Hill Artist Village in Taiwan (2022) and Akiyoshidai International Art Village in Japan (2025).
Tang’s artworks has been exhibited in museums and art organizations world-wide, including Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
