A contemporary landscape painter Gail de Jong originally graduated in the 1970’s with a Diploma in Fine and Applied Arts from the Otago Art School, Dunedin. De Jong returned to the school following a career in art teaching to earn a bachelors degree in painting in 2004. She now paints full time from her studio in Central Otago and is co-director of OCTA Gallery as well as being a member of Hullabaloo Art Space. She has been the recipient of awards and exhibits in public, private and dealer galleries.
