Hossein Valamanesh was born in 1949 in Tehran, Iran. He graduated from the School of Fine Art, Tehran in 1970 and emigrated to Australia in 1973. He graduated from the South Australian School of Art in 1977.
Hossein has exhibited extensively nationally and internationally in countries including Finland, Pakistan, Japan, Nepal, New Zealand, Taiwan and India. He has created work for several commissions including the Ginkgo Gate Botanic Gardens Adelaide and Fault Line, Riverside Quay, Southbank, Melbourne.
Collections include National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney; Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney and Sara Hildén Art Museum, Tampere, Finland. Hossein currently lives and works in Adelaide.
