Sally Smart was born in 1960 in Quorn, South Australia. She has exhibited widely throughout Australia and countries including China, United States, Belgium, Hong Kong, Brazil, New Zealand, Spain and Japan.
Sally studied at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne, Master of Fine Arts, (1991) Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne Post-graduate Diploma in Painting (1988). She was Trustee, National Gallery of Victoria, Australia from 2001-08.
Collections include National Gallery of Australia, Canberra; National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide and Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane. Sally currently lives and works in Melbourne, Australia.
