Samson Young’s (b. 1979) practice straddles sound performances, installation, video and drawing. Recent solo exhibitions include SMART Museum Chicago; Hong Kong Visual Arts Center, HK; Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh; DeAppel (duo solo with Steffani Jemison), Amsterdam (all 2019); M+ Pavilion HK (2018); Hong Kong Pavilion, Venice Biennial (2017); Kunsthalle Dusseldorf (2016); Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art (2015) amongst others. Young holds a Ph. D. in Music Composition, Princeton University (2013); M.Phil. in Music Composition, University of Hong Kong (2007) and a BA in Music, Philosophy and Gender Studies, University of Sydney (2002). Young lives and works in Hong Kong.
