YAMAMOTO Ryuki (b. 1976, Mie, Japan) graduated with a BFA from the Tokyo Zokei University in 2001. Known for his overwhelming compositions and incredibly detailed self-portraits. He won the Outstanding Award at The 8th Taro Okamoto Memorial Award for Contemporary Art in 2005. He lived and worked in Beijing, China in 2011–12 with a grant from the Pola Art Foundation. After a residency in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 2015, he lives and works in Tokyo today.
