Lim Tze Peng (b. 1921, Singapore) is Singapore’s oldest living and active artist. Lim occupies a unique position in Singapore’s art history due to his persistent innovation in ink painting and calligraphy, and his ability to infuse contemporary relevance into ancient practices. Lim was a member of various art groups who made art expeditions around Singapore, Southeast Asia, and beyond, and he produced numerous paintings and sketches from their travels. In 2003, Lim received the Cultural Medallion, Singapore’s highest arts accolade.
