Applications are now open for the seventh VH AWARD, Hyundai Motor Group’s global initiative supporting emerging media artists working with the context of Asia. Open from 26 May to 21 July 2026, submissions can be made through the VH AWARD official website.
The award continues the group’s commitment to fostering a sustainable creative environment, sharing diverse artistic experiments across moving image, audiovisual, and media-based practices while creating opportunities for international exchange and collaboration.
Since its launch in 2016, the VH AWARD has supported media artists and amplified diverse voices through global platforms and institutional partnerships. Recent Grand Prix recipients include the multimedia artist Lawrence Lek, the artist, writer and technologist Wendi Yan and Subash Thebe Limbu, a Yakthung (Limbu) artist from Yakthung Nation (Limbuwan), located in present-day eastern Nepal.
Building on its legacy, the seventh VH AWARD introduces expanded production support, a new ‘Honorary Mention’ category recognising a broader range of contemporary voices, and expanded online residency programme developed in collaboration with Ars Electronica.
Through the open call, five finalists will be selected and commissioned to produce new works to be presented across global platforms, including Hyundai Motor Group Vision Hall in Korea, HEK (House of Electronic Arts) in Switzerland, Ars Electronica Festival in Austria, and Singapore Art Week 2028.—[O]
