Arario Gallery opened its first Chinese branch in 2005 in the Jiu Chang Art District, Beijing. The Beijing space, which was in operation for over seven years with great success, closed its doors in 2012. In April 2014, ARARIO GALLERY SHANGHAI reopened in Xujiahui, Shanghai, until June 2017 and relocated to West Bund, Shanghai, from July 2017 to August 2020. Since its inauguration, the gallery has continued to play a significant role in introducing the works of not only Korean artists but also a diverse range of Asian artists from Japan, India, China, the Philippines, and Indonesia to the Chinese art scene. Combining the experience and expertise accumulated over the past two decades, Arario Gallery newly opened its space in West Bund. In addition, it launched ALP, a lifestyle editorial store for art and culture, in October 2022. ARARIO GALLERY SHANGHAI, which has now firmly established its positioning as the oldest Korean gallery in China, strives to provide a sustainable foundation for Asian artists through the steady discovery of young artists and advanced exhibition opportunities.
