YAEL BARTANA

Constantly seeking to create alternative fictional realities in commentary to existing narratives, Yael Bartana has been known for staging situations and introducing fictive moments in her works. Though Bartana primarily deals with film and collective performance, in recent years she has been experimenting with different mediums and expanding her body of work with sculptures and prints.

Bartana was the first non-Polish artist to represent Poland at the 54^th Venice Biennale with her acclaimed trilogy And Europe Will Be Stunned. In 2021, she will hold a solo show at the Jewish Museum Berlin with a new commissioned work for the museum, The Redemption. She is also due to participate in a group show at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, opening February 2021. Her other institutional shows include the Philadelphia Museum of Art; Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts, Lausanne; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Secession, Vienna; and Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Humlebæk, Denmark.
