De Sarthe Gallery is delighted to participate in the first edition of ASIA NOW, the only art fair dedicated to contemporary Asian Arts in Paris. At this occasion, we will exhibit works from the following collective of emerging contemporary Mainland Chinese artists: Lin Jingjing, Ma Sibo, Wang Guofeng and Zhou Wendou. These artists are part of a movement that is no longer expressing itself solely on a national level but more on a global platform. Together their work raises questions about issues that are prominent in contemporary China as well as the world, such as identity, politics, environmental issues, extreme consumerism, public and private interactions in a society that we all live in. We will also present a sculpture and a photograph by the Hong Kong artist Kacey Wong.
The first edition of Asia Now will be an opportunity for both French and International audience to discover the diversity of the contemporary Asian artists and their mode of expression. Our rigorous artistic selection stands as a window into contemporary China and its several social issues. In this way, the work from the Beijing Air series by Zhou Wendou tackles the recurrent concern towards atmospheric pollution in Beijing.
