Anthony Hopkins was born in Sydney in 1957. He is a self taught artist, who works primarily in coloured pencil, creating imagery from an imaginary world. His beautifully coloured and shaded biomorphic shapes suggest mushrooms, spaceships and extra-terrestrial creatures, all glowing from within.
He has exhibited regularly with Darren Knight Gallery, Sydney and had a solo exhibition with Cavin Morris Gallery, New York in 1998. He has participated in group shows and outsider art fairs in Europe, the United States and Australia.
