Huang Pin Tong was born in Taipei, Taiwan. She received the top honour in Taiwan’s contemporary art woodcarving category, the Gold Prize of the YULON Woodcarving Innovation Awards. Her works show that she has exceptional abilities for reinterpreting natural objects. The soft and delicate feet of babies, in particular, have become a feature of Huang Pin Tong’s works. The colourful and fluffy body, like a spiritual reliance on the thickness of life, makes people feel full and rich in their hearts, which itself is supplemented by the warmth of wood material, that further vibrantly sets off the atmosphere.
