Leila Mirzakhani, born in Tehran in 1978, has lived in Italy since 2005. She graduated in 2004 in painting from Tehran University of Art, she then continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome where she graduated in graphic art.

In 2008 she won the sixth edition of the 'Prize for Engraving at the Center for Engraving and Graphic Art' in Formello, and in 2018 she was awarded the Pavoncella Prize for female creativity in Sabaudia. In 2019, she was a guest in residence at ViaFarina studios in Milan. Recently her solo exhibition Immersions was held at Ogallery in Tehran.
