b. 1977, BangladeshThe works by London based artist Rana Begum blur the line between painting, sculpture and architecture. Rana Begum’s engagement with the relationship of colour, space, light and repetition appears in her steel and aluminium sculptures as well as her paintings. How materiality and colour subtly unite reveals only with the oberservor’s moving view. The works are not only inspired by Minimalism but also by the clear and defiant forms of modern architecture.
