Born in 1975, Sean currently lives and works in Melbourne.
After completing a Bachelor of Fine Art at the Victorian College of the Arts in 1997, Sean acted as Co-Director and Programme Co-ordinator of 1st Floor artists and writers space, until 2002. While Meilak was a studio artist at 200 Gertrude Street, he curated a number of significant exhibitions - including Family Romance, as part of the 2000 Next Wave Festival, and Mayonnaise, an exhibition hosted during the 2000 Melbourne Fashion Festival.
In 2006, Sean undertook a residency at the Cité International des Arts allowing him to live and work in Paris.
