Harold Ancart has joined Gagosian with a solo exhibition scheduled to take place in 2023 in New York, the gallery has announced.
Jumping ship from David Zwirner, the Brussels-born, New York-based artist brings his distinct abstractions to the mega-gallery, in which he distills natural forms and past experiences into both two and three-dimensional artworks.
Since receiving his MFA from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre in 2007, signature aspects of the artist’s practice include his series of swimming pools made of concrete and coloured using oil stick. Begun in 2017 during a hot summer in New York, the works offer new spatial configurations for painting.
