Antonio Addamiano started his business in 2006 with an exhibition dedicated to Mario Nigro, an artist whose work he has always loved. In 2017, 11 years after the first one, the Dep Art dedicated a large exhibition to Mario Nigro (Pistoia, 1917Livorno, 1992) in its new gallery in via Comelico 40.
On the occasion of the centenary of the artist’s birth, the gallery has presented a selection of paintings on canvas and works on paper belonging to different moments in the artist’s career, confirming the interest and passion for his work.
Dep Art has also edited a large bilingual monograph (Italian / English), curated by Federico Sardella, containing a text by the curator, a large critical study by Giovanni Maria Accame, together with reproductions of the works on display, enriched by a selection of repertoire images and bio-bibliographic insights.
To relive the emotions and masterpieces of the exhibition, Dep Art Gallery has made a celebratory video of Mario Nigro’s work, retracing the exhibition itinerary proposed in 2017, with beautiful details of the oeuvres and images of the artist at work in his studio.
