Press Release

For the first half of 2025, Galerie—Peter—Sillem will present a series of three solo exhibitions under the collective title Frankfurt, Perspectives. Showcasing the work of photographic artists Götz Diergarten, Wolfgang Stahr, and Daniel Poller, the series offers unique vantage points on the same city—its architecture, spaces, and layers.

Götz Diergarten – “inside-out”
 18 January – 22 February 2025 (Opening: 17 January, 6–8 PM)

The series begins with Götz Diergarten’s exhibition inside-out. For this series, Diergarten captured images through ribbed, ornamental, and wired glass, as well as glass blocks commonly used in the housing estates of the _New Frankfurt_movement of the 1920s. His photographs straddle the line between abstraction and realism, creating amorphous fields of color that recontextualize familiar motifs. Depending on the angle, lighting, and background, streets, trees, and architectural details dissolve into vibrant compositions, inviting viewers to see them anew. This exhibition also contributes to the centenary celebrations of Neues Frankfurt.

Götz Diergarten (b. 1972) studied fine art and photography at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Professor Bernd Becher and at the Zurich University of the Arts. Since the release of his first book Ravenoville (2001), Diergarten’s photographic works have been featured in numerous international exhibitions, galleries, and art fairs. He is a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh) and the Werkbund Hessen, and he co-founded the international photographer network Piece of Cake. He has also taught at art academies and photography schools in Germany and abroad. Diergarten lives and works in Frankfurt am Main and Volxheim in Rheinhessen
