Press Release

Gallery Chosun will host Lee JeongHoo’s solo exhibition “Equilibrium” from March 4 to March 18, 2021. In this exhibition, she will focus on the relationships and memories of accumulated efforts that we will have in situations or conditions that occur for things to exist. Both what is shown and what is made are necessary to maintain life. The artist suggests that in the process of combining objects, there are relatable with sculptural objects between the light, space, and time of the moment. The combination of objects proposed by her is small and subtle, but it contains constant change and effort between time and space as well as each object. It is “standing things” in an assembled balance created by each effort to exist, having its own memory and purpose in each position. In the very unstable situation, objects create their own roles and perform their roles in their own places. By showing it in a non-deterministic and changeable state, the boundaries and balances between structure and construction are revealed in instantaneous moments. This seems to bring a quiet interest at the endless changes in our daily lives and the resulting efforts. You can feel LEE JeongHoo’s willingness to walk her own path silently, while constantly shaking to keep her place in reality that is never quiet.
