Marianne Morild's paintings and installations describe unknown and undescribed surroundings. Her works are informed by various kinds of maps including baroque-period or contemporary seismic maps used for oil exploration.

Set against a black background, seemingly floating, it could be interpreted as fragments of suspended landscapes, 'torn' from their ground.
