T.E.S.

Having lived under Iran’s dark political system, a religious autocratic dictatorship that doesn’t resemble any other on Earth, it was a great epiphany for T.E.S. to witness the inconceivable bravery of Iranian citizens, especially women, rising up against four decades of gender apartheid and inhumane brutality with the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement. Translations inscribed across multiple languages amplify the voices of freedom fighters within Iran. The pleading message of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement emerges in sharp contrast to the tombstone design that T.E.S. enshrines in these Mihrab-style windows. The artist encourages you to consider the global and personal connections of this movement. Consider their fervent prayer; raising their hands and pleading for yours in strength and support. This work is dedicated to women, to life, and to freedom, in honor of all the innocent lives lost in the pursuit of liberty all over the globe.
