Who Is Showing at the First Ever Frieze Seoul?

Frieze has announced the 118 galleries that will show in their first Asian fair from 2–5 September 2022.

The list is a who’s who of the world’s leading global galleries, including Gagosian, Gladstone, Hauser & Wirth, Pace, White Cube, and David Zwirner.

Galleries are continuing to invest in the city ahead of the fair. Pace today announced expansions to their arts complex in the Le Beige Building with a new ground floor exhibition space for interactive artworks, an outdoor courtyard for sculptures, and a tea house for, yes, tea, but also prints and editions.

In addition to the 90 contemporary art galleries at Frieze Seoul, another ten will appear in a section entitled Focus Asia, which features solo artist presentations from young Asia-based galleries.

The Frieze Masters section will feature an additional 18 galleries.

Frieze also listed details of supporting exhibitions and events during Seoul’s first ever Frieze Week beginning 29 August.

Institutional exhibitions include Hito Steyerl ‘A Sea of Data’ at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA), a Chung Seoyong retrospective at the Seoul Museum of Art, and Daniel Richter‘s My Lunatic Neighbour at Space K.
