Frieze Los Angeles is America’s premier contemporary art fair on the West Coast as well as a major event in the international art world calendar. Launched in 2019, the fair is directed by gallerist Christine Messineo alongside the New York city edition of Frieze.
Frieze Los Angeles typically takes place in February at the historic Santa Monica Airport, where local pioneers and international names alike convene to showcase an exciting array of contemporary art by artists around the world. The Galleries section features presentations by seasoned dealers, while the curated Focus section highlights solo booths by younger galleries founded after 2012. With an expansive programme encompassing new site-specific works, art tours, and collaborations with nonprofit organisations, the fair attracts an eclectic mix of art enthusiasts and collectors to a city known for its dynamic culture and history of art communities.
