GROUP EXHIBITION

On the top floor, one room is dedicated to the works of artist Elizabeth Glaessner. These paintings on paper were created during the Elizabeth Glaessner’s residency at La Cité Radieuse, Le Corbusier’s seminal utopian architectural project in Marseille, France. Working within the constraints of both the building and Le Corbusier’s theoretical “Modulor Man”—a system of measurement based on the male body—Glaessner developed a series that both engages with and expands upon these rigid frameworks. Each work, defined by its own dominant palette, echoes the primary-colour grids that animate the façade of the Cité Radieuse. Within these compressed spaces, feminine silhouettes sprint, wander, float, and gaze, pushing against and ultimately transcending the constraints of this highly ordered environment.
