Beverley Veasey makes wry and gentle observations on the relations of humans to the world around them, focusing on the landscapes we build and our engagement with the natural world. Whether removing all traces of a natural habitat to isolate animals against stark backgrounds, or by depicting artificial environments without their animal inhabitants, Veasey's work amplifies our often-mediated and manipulated experience of the natural world in a subtle yet potent way.

She exhibits widely and has had solo shows at Monash Gallery of Art, VIC, Centre for Contemporary Photography, VIC and Stills Gallery, Sydney. She has won the National Photography Prize, the Waverley Art Prize and the Woollahra Art Prize, and has been a finalist in several major photography awards including three times in the Bowness Art Prize, five times in the Josephine Ulrich Photography Prize, the Photographic Portrait Prize in AGNSW, and the City of Perth Photographic Prize. She has participated in over 60 group shows, and has work held in numerous public and private collections, including Monash Gallery of Art, Gold Coast City Art Gallery, Albury Regional Gallery, QUT, and Artbank.
